Heikki Wilenius
Heikki Wilenius is a postdoctoral researcher at University of Helsinki. His work bridges digital anthropology, science and technology studies, media studies, and political anthropology, with two principal strands. He has conducted ethnographic fieldwork in Indonesia – primarily in East Java and Kalimantan – on political discourse, frontier dynamics, resource commodification, and the circulation of publics. More recently, his research has focused on the social and communicative transformations brought about by generative AI, including an ongoing study of how software developers incorporate large language models into their work and organisations.
