Daniel E. Agbiboa is the John and Ruth Hazel Associate Professor of the Social Sciences at Harvard University. His research examines violence, mobility, and governance in West and Central Africa. He is the author of People as Protection: Civilian Countering Insurgency in Northeast Nigeria (University of Pennsylvania Press, 2026) and Mobility, Mobilization and Counter/Insurgency (University of Michigan Press, 2022). He is currently completing a book on the afterlives of Boko Haram in the Lake Chad Basin.
