Elise Hjalmarson is an anthropologist, critical migration scholar, and community organizer. The recipient of a Swiss National Science Foundation Postdoc.Mobility Fellowship, she is based at the University of California, Berkeley, and holds a PhD from the Geneva Graduate Institute. Her current research attends to cross-border economies of care and future horizons in Cuba, Nicaragua, and beyond. Elise is Allegra Lab's Book Reviews Editor.
