Swargajyoti Gohain
Swargajyoti Gohain's research interests include borders, culture and politics, development, roads and mobility. Her book Himalaya Bound: Culture, Politics, and Imagined Geographies in India's North East Frontier (University of Washington Press, forthcoming) concerns cultural politics and new spatial imaginations among a borderland community in the Indo-Tibetan borderlands. Her current project is on roads and highways in Northeast India. She is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, India, and will soon be joining Ashoka University, India.
