Ruy Llera Blanes is an anthropologist based in Lisbon, Portugal. He is Principal Researcher at ISCTE-IUL, affiliated to CRIA and In2Past research centres. He has conducted long term research in Angola on religion, memory, human rights, social movements, environmental issues. More recently he has conducted research in Northern Mozambique on its new extractive age. He is the author of A Prophetic Trajectory (2014, Berghahn) and A Revolução Angolana no Século XXI (2023, Tinta-da-china).
