Niamh Ni Bhroin is an Associate Professor at the Department of Nordic and Media Studies, University of Agder, Norway. Ni Bhroin researches how the digitalisation of society affects the everyday lives of children and young people and is a founding member of the Sensory Media Anthropology network. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of the newly established Centre for research on Children, Youth and Media at UiO, and of the EU Kids Online network in Norway. Ni Bhroin was recently appointed as an expert member of the Screen Use Committee, established by the Norwegian government to provide advice on children and young people’s screen use. Ni Bhroin participates in national and international projects that investigate children and young people's media use, and publishes and disseminates research on "screen time", media harm, the digitalisation of education and sharenting. She has a PhD in media studies from the Department of Media and Communication at the University of Oslo (2015).
