Miranda Sheild Johansson
Miranda Sheild Johansson is a Leverhulme Early Career Fellow in the Department of Anthropology, University College London. Miranda’s current project, ‘Becoming a Tax Payer: Fiscal Expansion and Economic Subjectivities in Bolivia’, explores indigenous perspectives on tax, statecraft in Latin America, fiscal exchange logics, and the Social Contract. Miranda is the co-editor of a forthcoming volume on the anthropology of tax, her work on Andean fiscal cultures also feature in Social Analysis and History and Anthropology. Beyond tax, Miranda has published on themes of agricultural labour, the value of productivity, and animate landscapes in Bolivia.
