Matthäus Rest works at the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Human History in Jena where he investigates the deep history of dairying across Eurasia. Before that, he focused on the invention, cancellation and return of the Arun-3 hydropower project in Nepal. In addition, he is involved in a collaborative long-term research project on the global rise of the Krampus.
