Mark Drury
Mark Drury is a PhD candidate in Anthropology at the The Graduate Center, CUNY. His research focuses on: sovereignty and international law; human rights and political conflict; and the historiography of decolonization. His dissertation, titled “Disorderly Histories: An Anthropology of Decolonization in Western Sahara,” examines the fragmented political geography produced by decolonization in this region of northwest Africa, and is based on fieldwork research carried out in Morocco, Moroccan-occupied Western Sahara, Mauritania, and Sahrawi refugee camps in Algeria.
