Katarzyna Kwapisz Williams is Deputy Director and Jean Monnet Research Fellow at the Centre for European Studies, The Australian National University. She is interested in literary anthropology, life writing and travel writing, memory studies, migrant cultural studies and cultural history. Her research considers migrant literary cultural practices, transfer of memory between generations and communities, mediation of memory and constructions of the self within the contexts of migration, the experience of displacement and transcultural belonging. She is also interested in Eastern European identity making.
