Kareem Rabie
Kareem is Senior Researcher and Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center on Migration, Policy, and Society (COMPAS), as well as Research Associate at the Oxford Program on the Future of Cities, University of Oxford. This year he is beginning research on the relationships between Palestine and China and new geographies of globalization, trade, and migration under occupation. He is also revising his dissertation, "Palestine is Throwing a Party and the Whole World is Invited", into a book manuscript. His dissertation is based on ethnographic research on new town development and the state building project in the West Bank, and was supported by the National Science Foundation, the Wenner-Gren Foundation, the Mellon Foundation and the CUNY Graduate Center, the Palestinian American Research Center, and the Arab Council for the Social Sciences.
Kareem received his BA in anthropology from the University of Chicago and his PhD in anthropology at the Graduate Center, City University of New York.
