John Schouten
John Schouten is a marketing professor, a consumer researcher, a poet and a novelist. He earned a PhD from the University of Utah in 1990 in marketing with a minor in cross-cultural studies and previous studies in the Sciences, Creative Writing, Spanish and Latin-American studies. Previous to his academic career he worked with varying degrees of success and satisfaction as a ski instructor, a machinist, a mental health worker, an optician, a roofer and a Spanish teacher. Currently he has the great pleasure to work in the Department of Marketing at Aalto University and in the Center for Customer Insight at University of St. Gallen.
