John Postill
John Postill is Vice-Chancellor's Senior Research Fellow at RMIT University, Melbourne, and Digital Anthropology Fellow at University College London. His publications include Localizing the Internet (2011), Media and Nation Building (2006) and the co-edited volume Theorising Media and Practice (2010, with Birgit Bräuchler). He is currently completing a book titled Freedom Technologists: A Field Theory of Political Change in Hybrid Media Worlds, as well as the co-edited volumes Digital Media and Cultural Change (Postill, Tenhunen and Ardevol) and Theorising Media and Conflict (Postill, Budka and Bräuchler). He has conducted anthropological fieldwork in Malaysia, Indonesia and Spain and is currently working on two separate projects: a cross-cultural study of digital politics and a historical anthropology of media and cultural change.
