Georgina Ramsay
Georgina Ramsay is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Delaware. Her recently published book, Impossible Refuge: The Control and Constraint of Refugee Futures, focuses on reconceptualising displacement and sovereignty, and provides a critical and comparative analysis of global humanitarian systems based on ethnographic fieldwork with people from refugee backgrounds. She has published research on refugees in a number of journals, including Public Culture, Political and Legal Anthropology Review, Anthropological Quarterly. Her new project further expands how displacement is understood in anthropology by considering how people who are homeless in urban Philadelphia can also be understood as displaced.
