Gabriela Piña received her PhD in Social Anthropology from the London School of Economics in 2020. She has carried out long term ethnographic fieldwork with the Mapuche people in Chile on issues of childcare, education and kinship. She is now a consultant for intercultural education at UNESCO Santiago and a member of the Centre for Indigenous and Intercultural Studies. Her current research interests revolve around issues of indigenous people, education, gender, political participation and childhood.
