Dr. Douglas Farrer is Associate Professor of Anthropology at the University of Guam. His research interests include visual anthropology, martial arts and performance. He authored Shadows of the Prophet: Martial Arts and Sufi Mysticism (2009), and edited “War Magic and Warrior Religion: Sorcery, Cognition and Embodiment” for Social Analysis (2014).
