Augustine Gyan
Augustine Gyan (Augustine.Gyan@uni-bayreuth.de) is a DAAD scholar and doctoral researcher at the Bayreuth International Graduate School of African Studies (BIGSAS), University of Bayreuth, Germany. His work explores the entangled politics of land, mining, and resistance in Ghana’s gold-rich regions. Drawing from anthropology, sociology, and development studies, he uses ethnographic and political ecology approaches to examine how resource extraction and shifting governance frameworks shape everyday struggles, activism, and the reconfiguration of livelihoods and identities in mining-affected communities.
