Angela Smith is a PhD candidate in the Faculty of Law at the University of New South Wales in Sydney. Her doctoral dissertation looks at deportation practices, focusing on the historical and contemporary role of aviation infrastructure. Angela’s research interests lie in interdisciplinary and critical approaches to technologies of border policing. She holds a Masters in Migration and Refugee Studies from the American University in Cairo.
