Andrea Behrends is Professor and Head of the Institute of Anthropology at Leipzig University. In her research she focuses on mobility, belonging, conflict, intervention, and resources. Her particular interest lies in how people navigate crises by adapting their knowledge and actions to new circumstances. Her recent book Lifeworlds in Crisis. Making Refugees in the Chad-Sudan Borderlands published by Hurst and Oxford University Press in 2024.
