Aglaja is a PhD candidate in Social Anthropology at the University of Edinburgh. After originally being trained as a cinematographer she completed her Masters in Anthropology of Development at the School of Oriental and African Studies in London and is now researching what indigenous film by the Ju/’hoansi San in the Kalahari can tell us about how images and imaginations of the exotic other are navigated and selectively inhabited by those affected. She sometimes tweets about her efforts to come to terms with writing about images at @baaaglaja.
