Author: Adeline Masquelier

Adeline Masquelier is Professor of Anthropology at Tulane University. A specialist of Niger, she is the author of Prayer Has Spoiled Everything: Possession, Power, and Identity in an Islamic Town of Niger and Fada: Boredom and Belonging in Niger. Her monograph Women and Islamic Revival in a West African Town was awarded the 2010 Herskovits Award and the 2012 Aidoo-Snyder prize. She edited Dirt, Undress, and Difference: Critical Perspectives on the Body’s Surface and co-edited Muslim Youth and the 9/11 Generation and Critical Terms for the Study of Africa.
