An audio note on Commitment

In this audio file, I reflect on my fieldwork in Palestine. Using commitment as a frame, I address how it helped me navigate encounters that pushed against pieties that stifle contradictions. I reckon with the possibilities that opened up when the field forces us to say and do things we did not expect, and recognize the everyday politics of our scholarship.

‘We have to sit with the structural inequality of our work, and not try to dance around the obligation of asking how we should mitigate its harms. How do we use ourselves to forge, for all of us, better conditions of life?’
