I&#039;m working as an applied anthropologist (in evaluation consulting) and I can see there is such demand for anthropologists in the social change sector. To add to your suggestions -  how about more part-time academic positions that have some kind of link to work outside the university? E.g. you could spend three days a week doing applied research and spend another two days a week contributing to a scholarly evidence base and/or teaching. That would leave more academic positions to go around and also encourage cross-pollination of ideas across academia and applied sectors.]]></description>
