Although modern medical breakthroughs have dramatically improved chances for longer lives for many cancers survivors, there are still plenty of days when a patient’s psychological reserves feel inadequate to the task. “Keep swimming” is an effective response to those times. The fact that these words come from a cartoonish Disney blue tang gave the mantra a note of whimsey and self-deprecating humor. Just what we need sometimes!
